Gather 2 lbs of potatoes (russet or Yukon gold), 4 cloves of garlic, ½ cup of milk, ¼ cup of grated Parmesan cheese, 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter, salt, and pepper.

Peel and quarter the potatoes. Place them in a large pot, cover with cold water, and add a pinch of salt. Bring to a boil, then simmer until tender, about 15-20 minutes.

Garlic Infusion

While potatoes cook, mince the garlic cloves. In a small saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. Remove from heat.

Mashing Process

Drain cooked potatoes and return to the pot. Mash with a potato masher until smooth.

Creamy Texture

Gradually add milk, Parmesan cheese, and garlic butter mixture while continuing to mash until creamy. Adjust consistency with more milk if needed.

Season with salt and pepper to taste. Mix well to blend flavors evenly.

Finishing Touch

Stir in additional Parmesan cheese for extra richness, if desired.

Serve Warm

Transfer mashed potatoes to a serving bowl. Garnish with chopped parsley or chives.

Storage Tips

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently on the stove or in the microwave.

Indulge in these irresistible garlic Parmesan mashed potatoes as a flavorful side dish for any occasion.
